NURBS-based 3D surface modeling for consumer products with emphasis on Class-A surface continuity, blending design freedom and engineering precision in Rhino 3D.

Outcomes

Explored advanced NURBS modeling techniques for high-quality consumer product surfaces. Started with early AutoCAD 3D point plotting, evolved through game mapping tools, then mastered Rhino 3D (preferred for personal work) with V-Ray rendering. Incorporated T-Splines for automotive-inspired Class-A continuity, plus NX, SolidWorks, 3ds Max, and brief CATIA v5 / ICEM Surf exposure in aerospace. Applied to consumer products focusing on smooth, manufacturable surfaces.

My 3D modeling journey began young with AutoCAD 3D point plotting and hatching. Progressed to specialized game map tools before discovering Rhino 3D — my core tool for its design freedom and precision. In college added Siemens NX, SolidWorks, and 3ds Max; integrated V-Ray for advanced rendering.

Driven by automotive aspirations, deeply explored T-Splines in Rhino for Class-A surface continuity (pre-Autodesk Alias). Continued refining NURBS techniques in Rhino and gained aerospace exposure with CATIA v5 / ICEM Surf guided by SEGULA Technologies.

This project showcases NURBS surface modeling applied to consumer products, prioritizing G2/G3 continuity (where it matters) for premium aesthetics and DFM.
