As part of my constant attempt to be up-to-date with latest 3D modeling tools and technologies, I'm trying out the new tools and it's promising statements, are we there yet?

Make Everything Ai

Rather, let AI make it all.

There's a race of who's the one that's going to take the most advantage of this technology, Ai has come to revolutionize the world and all industries, this is no difference for the design and 3D modeling industry.

As a design professional, I'm always keen to explore upcoming technologies and processes, this is my approach on understanding AI tools to aid on industrial design activities.

What is Ai?

There are plenty and more precise definitions for AI, but here's my short version,
we refer to Ai (Artificial Intelligence) to talk about Neural Network Processing and Large Language Models (LLM's); Basically, someone feed data to a computer to "Train it", the computer recognize and capture patterns from that data, then we give it a prompt and it would do it's best to generate the output based on the patterns it was able to identify.

Now a days, the prompt it's not used as is, but the new models, retrofit your prompt to better understand it, use multiple agents to talk in between them, and auto-generate a refined prompt to get you the "best result", we could also not just work with words (like the pure LLM's) but also with images or sound.

If you think about it, this is how design ideas work, we are just connecting dots and make sense of multiple contexts until we come up with an idea, but take notice...

Ideas are NOT Solutions

Ideas have to be validated, developed, tested and refined to become solutions, Ai it's very good at generating convincing results, but we are limited on what we can feed to fully generate solutions, specially if we are talking about design.


The main challenge for AI tools when designing and 3D modeling it's language, I could spend hours describing the shape and style of a product, you'll probably think on something different from what I have in my head, this is why designers rely so much on drawing and concept sketching and visualization tools.

Ai can only understand what we are able to write, say or draw and it would only generate outputs based on it's Trained data.
